The Pain Of Heels

Why high heels feel like rubber banded feet balancing on (golf) pencils:

Pointy toe heels cram your forefoot into an unnatural shape, and stilettos force your heel to balance on a teeter totter. While this may feel like a good workout for your ankle, over time it causes major instability and increases the likelihood of sprains

Runners Feel Like

Why runners feel like gummy bears:

Overly cushioned “athletic” shoes with tapered toe boxes completely remove connection to the ground, and force your toes into an unnatural position. The balls of your feet are left to squish and squash into mush, and the heel-to-toe drop is similar to a high heel. These types of shoes are a breeding ground for bunions…

Why barefoot shoes sometimes feel like clown shoes:

The healthiest of the bunch, barefoot shoes are the only footwear that allow your feet to align and move anatomically. Unfortunately though, due to many brands’ design choices, they also often look goofy AF. Does anyone want to wear shoes that make you feel like a clown? I don’t…

  • DESIGNED BY & FOR WORKING WOMEN.

Being a woman in corporate America is challenging on multiple fronts but our shoe choice shouldn't make it harder. It shouldn't, but it does. People notice...

One of my biggest frustrations is the lack of comfortable, good-for-your-feet, shoe options on the market.

When we're focused on optimizing in our career, it doesn't often end there. We're focused on optimizing in our lives...so why would do I need to sacrifice health and mobility?

  • IMBUED WITH BAREFOOT PRINCIPLES.

I'm part of a powerful movement online - one centered on natural foot function and mobility. It's called "Barefoot" and it's primary focus is crafting shoes that work with our feet.

This manifests in a wider toe-box so our feet can splay naturally, a reduced drop and minimized unhealthy cushioning.

Here's the problem with barefoot shoes. Most of them are...ugly. They absolutely standout in the workplace in all the worst ways. This brought me to an interesting challenge. One I've sought to conquer with Onif.

  • ELIMINATING THE COMPROMISE.

No woman should have to compromise on comfort or style. I saw the problem, and set out for the solution. Onif is a shoe brand focused on merging style and barefoot principles so that we could bring our health and style to the office, the brunch, the airport and beyond.

Our first shoe is launching later this year, a smoking slipper that embodies versatility, comfort and style. You're an early adopter - welcome to the movement.

You will be part of redefining the standard!
